Boiling Mud CaveBoiling Mud Cave CR5+
This is a large circular cave about two hundred feet wide.  The entire cave floor is filled with a lake of boiling hot mud.  There is a horrible odor of sulfur and the air is very hot.  Crossing over the pool, through the air of the room requires a fortitude save DC15 or take 1d4 points of heat damage.  Touching the scalding mud will cause 1d6 points of damage per round.  There is an exit on the far side of the chamber leading to another passageway.  Swirling mist hovers above the mud.  The room is dark without a light source. Sharp Shard PassageSharp Shard Passage CR2+
This narrow winding stone passage with uneven walls looks like the inside of a geod.  Shards of sharp crystal protrude from the walls everywhere.  Every twenty feet, a PC must make a DC20 Reflex Save or be sliced for 1d6 points of damage. The shards tear clothing and even slice leather.  A PC moving at half speed and making a successful balance check DC15 will avoid the shards.  The shards can be broken with physical blows, but this causes a shower of slicing shards to rain down causing 1d6 points of damage to everyone within a five foot radius.  After that, that five foot area is clear of shards.
Anti-magic Water of Mist WorldAnti-Magic Water
This is a naturally occurring type of water in Mist World that is infused with anti-magic.  It cannot be distinguished from ordinary water in any way.  A field of anti-magic is produced within a radius of twenty feet of a large pool or stream of anti-magic water.  The anti-magic is weak in small doses of the water, so it requires a pool or stream to create the effect.  Of course, in presence of pools or streams of anti-magic water there are no magic mists!  This one of the few areas of Mist World free of magic mists and mist effects at all times.

Whoa, very cool. Reminds me of the 1920s book art in horror novels. Almost woodcut like, very clean. Evocative, and Lovecraftian in an otherworldly and sinister way.

Thanks! It was an experiment. I was very pleased with the look to it. Maybe subconsciously I was thinking of an old spooky woodcut, because it does seem to have that feel to it. :D

It really didnt take that long. An hour or so. I think I could do better with the concept. I might do more of these and get more creative with them. :-)
