Mist World RPG Setting, 21 Years of Dreams/Writing by Mistgod Mist World RPG Setting, 21 Years of Dreams/Writing by Mistgod
This is a photo of all the stuff I have written and created for my RPG story world of Mist World. The world has been in development for 21 years (and the germs of it go back even farther to other settings).

These are "press board report covers" or Acco Binders [link] I put a card stock backing on them to make them look more book like. I "laminate" them with clear packing tape (no it's not exactly high craftsmanship, but it works for me). I also use binders of course with lots of page protectors.

See my Mist World RPG folder in my gallery to find some excepts from the books. [link]

Many of my Mist World ideas can also be found in :icondungeoncrawl:, which a great group for Dungeon Masters and players who love dungeon crawl style RPGs.

It took like thirty years.  LOL Well, about 25 years.  Thirty if you really stretch what were the origins of Mist World.  I started playing fantasy RPGs in about 1985.

It really is fun to keep old work.  You can go back and see how much you have improved and where you started from!

I bet it does. I'd love to experience your world. Mistworld. Just the name sounds interesting. If only I had a superpower where I can go into a book or a story and experience it first hand. That would be amazing.

There a lot of details about it in my Mist World RPG gallery folder. I consider it free for anyone to copy and use. I keep hoping some writer will take the idea and use it for a story. That would be really cool! There was someone asking in notes if I minded him writing some adventure modules based on my ideas. I told him to go for it!

I'll have to give it a read, who knows, maybe I'll take up the task. But that all depends on what other ideas I come up with. I already have a list full of them. I also want to finish this book that I have currently, and the sequel to that.

And a potential third book. All depends on my awesome imagination. :D

You are welcome to use any ideas I submit if they inspire you! :-) I admire people who write fiction. I can't do it worth a darn. It's the mechanics of a narrative story that I don't understand and also having the discipline and stamina to sit and write and edit that much detail.

So far everything that I've written for my book has been by hand. I'm very new at the whole writing thing, so I'm not sure how good it'll be. But I recently read my reformed chapter one and, I was a little amazed at how well it sounded. Of course I'm still nervous about what others will thing, but not as much now. :D

I'll keep that in mind when I read your ideas. Who knows maybe they'll inspire me to write something new. :D

Good writing is a grueling process of writing, rereading, critique and rewriting and editing. Any author worth his or her salt will have many revisions of the same story. :-) Then when you give it to the publishing company (unless you self publish) the editor there will demand even more changes. It's just the nature of the business and a lot of hard work. It is a labor of love though if you are a real writer.

Cool! I hope they do!

You should post closer pictures of some of the books. I'd love to see how they are made, etc. We've been using binders, but this looks so much better.

That is why I share ideas online in :icondungeoncrawl:. I have many excerpts and ideas submitted in my gallery folders. It was never meant to be published really, just enjoyed by my players. Most of it is very original, but there are things borrowed from here and there from books and movies. Publishing would require more editing than I can imagine! I would have to go through every page to remove any copywrite infringements for one thing. I daunting task. Then there are reams and reams of hand written notes and ideas presented in drawings.
