My family went on a camping trip into the golden hills of California to Black Butte Lake. It was beautiful but hot as Hades at 109 degrees (42 degrees celcius)! We went swimming in water that was 85 degrees, hiked in the early morning or evening, saw lots of critters (deer, racoons, an owl, doves, coyotes). At night there were beautiful stars and a meteor shower (Persied Meteor Shower). There was a beautiful conjunction of the moon and Venus in the early morning. We cooked hot dogs and s'mores and had marinated steak over the grill on our camp fire.

There were no clouds. There was smoke from nearby wild fires though. The arid landscape burns every year with hundreds of square miles going up in flames. Then it grows back to burn again another year. You might be sensing the hazy smoke in the sky there.

Really? There were Native American tribes in the area that lived along the rivers. In the 1850s and 1860s, thousands of them were brutally rounded up enslaved or killed around here. [link] It was the notorious Extermination Policy and the Maidu Trail of Tears. [link] It is sad history that I know about more than the average person, unless they are Native American. You just made my hair stand on end! You can sense them, that is amazing! I think the Native people here would like you.

Oh my!! How incredibly horrible... :tears: Thank you for the link  Gosh, it was pretty cool I sensed that. I just told my boyfriend and he said it was a typical thing for me but he gets so scared of these things... glad he can not sense ghosts :XD: Thank you!! That really touched my heart to hear you think they would like me

Btw, trying to answer everything from you but doing it in steps ;)

Native American history is a long tragic story! They are finding their path in this modern world though and reclaiming their heritage and pride in their culture. Every year, the population of Native Americans in the U.S. is growing again. I see them working to preserve their languages and customs and even invent some modern new Native American customs. :-)

You are a very empathic, spiritual and sensitive person! I am glad you shared that with your boy friend. lol Hope he didn't freak out too bad. :-)

Don't worry Lina. I have learned to be patient! You have reassured me that you are reading my posts and getting to them when you are ready. I also learned the replies from you are going to be well considered and thoughtful. I just have to be patient for my Lina time! lol I don't ever want you to think you have to rush and get those replies in. Take your time, I am okay. If there is a really important message from me that you need to really mull over (such as my occasional outburst of dear and enduring chivalrous love for you... "ohh, you will always be mine my sweetness"), you can always tell me you have read it and are thinking and will get back to me when you are ready to write more. At least I will know you read it and you are not offended or freaking out or worse, ignoring me 'cause you think I'm a dope. lol Try this -> "Okay, I will get back to this one!" Or something like that will make me happy in those cases.

It gets crazy trying to chat with everyone on DA. It can suck you in and take over! I have had to back off sevaral times and get real for a while. I will totally understand if you need to do that! It would be hard, but I will understand it. lol I am back to my full schedule as of tomorrow so, that will help us both out! lol It will slow to a manageable level between us I think.

nice composure, shame about the heat, a nice moody sky would have added to the picture

I about died hiking the trails out there in that heat! I had plenty of water and gateraid. Yeah, some clouds would have added something and cooled things down! :-) Maybe next time I go.
